Your authentic Indy experience...

Built in 1905, The Looking Glass Inn is located in the heart of the city’s Old Northside Historic District, an area that was home for the principal leaders of Indianapolis at the turn of the century. Elizabeth Gates, the widow of a wholesale grocery merchant, erected this Free Classic style Mansion and lived here until 1907. The Looking Glass Inn opened its doors in February 1999, after the Life Family renovated and redecorated the home.

Now this lovely bed and breakfast provides a sanctuary for guests visiting Indianapolis for vacations, romantic getaways, weekends with friends, or business trips. Decorated with deep, rich colors, exquisite antiques, and luxurious linens, our lodging accommodations consist of 5 guestrooms and 1 third-floor suite.

Stay at The Looking Glass Inn and experience bed and breakfast hospitality at its best, while discovering the best of Indianapolis. Visit historic sites, such as the Morris-Butler House and the Benjamin Harrison Home, take in a show, browse specialty boutiques and galleries, and indulge in Indy’s fabulous restaurants and eateries. You’ll find it all not far from The Looking Glass Inn.

My first stay at an inn, and I'm sold. The environment is very warm and inviting, definitely what one would hope for in a place to stay. Way better than the cold, sterile feel of a large chain hotel. Not to mention that the price was better than a large chain hotel. And everything was within walking distance. We stayed in the Portrait Room, which is on the first floor. Really enjoyed the claw-foot tub.
